We publish literary/sonic artworks by writers/artists which are written specifically to be heard at determined locations and which explore the aesthetic possibilities of sonically delivered literature within the physical experiences of an environment.

Sound artist and vocalist Ami Yamasaki explores the atmospheric terrain between land, water and the built environment by creating a series of vocalized poems in the spaces underneath five Tokyo bridges, with a bonus piece for a coffee shop with a glowing wool ball outside beckoning.

Coffee House Wool

Asakusabashi is one of the leading wholesale districts in Japan.
In one corner of this town there is the Coffee House WOOL where the signature of the wool ball glows slightly.
I take a cup of coffee.
When I pay, the master suggested a gray block. It is the soil of the Noto Peninsula. It is a health control method to eat soil. All the moisture in my mouth is gone and I feel as if I am eating ash.
I remember the sea.
I remember the thirst I feel at sea.

A motorboat turns the Sumida River,
goes through the Yanagi Bridge, and proceeds along the Kanda River. Shake the party boats waiting for people.

Yanagi Bridge

A bridge that means two countries. Go down the river without crossing. The flow of tiles along a river. Runners come and go.
Behind the bridge is the abyss of the stage.
The sound soak into the iron.
Waves break at the bridge piers and fall regrettably. That water and the water beyond are all different. Even though everything is the same.

For defensive reasons, this river had no bridge for a long time. A big fire in 1657.
A lot of people died.
A bridge was built between the two countries.

A river with the smell of the sea.
I listen to the highway pipe instead of a sea shell. Flowing cars, gigantic bodies, trembling, roaring sounds. Sound passes like light, like rain.
A poet in the 9th century who traveled far from Kyoto to the eastern part of Japan found a bird named Capital and asked for it.
“If you are true to your name,
Then let me ask you—
Say, Bird of the Capital,
Is my beloved living safely or not?
Water, Car, Who will the love letter reach?

The Horse of Light.
While I’m staring, I get on that back and go somewhere.
A dog rejoices. The dog entangles the leash around the owner and draws an arc. A young man hits a baseball glove many times.
For making it familiar into his hand.
A man appears from somewhere and gives him advice.
"Put the ball into the glove, tie it tightly, put it under the pillow and sleep." Baseball will meet up with the young man in his dream.
He will hear baseball.
Instead of a sea shell.
Instead of the sea.
